the CLEO #2
This was finally the CLEO album I had been looking for, containing the elusive Step by Step that I had originally found mistagged as Triple. Incidentally, the album also features two other brilliant tracks, making it their best one.
#1 Intro
This is the best intro ever. It has as many different styles as you can fit into 1:20. It's a shame it isn't a real song, because it would definitely be really good. I've thought, however, that it has some kind of a connection to Khyraing Keim. Further extra points are gained for the "This is the beginning" sample, which is such a great way to begin your album.
#2 Ready for Love 10
Traditionally considered the best song of the album. This is how they earned the reputation of sounding like Steps. The only downside is that their voices sound especially weak in this one.
#3 Sun Flower 8½
Mellow midtempo in the style of Crazy Love. Not bad at all. I think I'll want to hear this again some time.
#4 Always in My Heart 7
Not as weak as I predicted. Still a bit too watery.
#5 Last Story 8
This album seems to have many of this pleasant but not spectacular kind of tracks. I might try giving this one four stars as well and see if it'll stay that way.
#6 Zhwëhuyi Sônthêk 8
One more potential four-star piece.
#7 Songô 7
Totally Korean ballad but again, not bad.
#8 Khyraing Keim 10
Yee! This is so good. The title is also so wonderful when you first don't realise it's supposed to be koreanised English.
#9 Mosun 9
CLEO step upon Baek Ji Young's territory by temporarily becoming latin dance queens.
#10 Step by Step 10
Yee, part two! I never seem to be able to decide between this and Ready for Love, which is the best. The beginning has one more brilliant sample: "Il futuro è nostro". I wonder where they find all those...
#11 Saranghê 8½
All in all, this album has been a lot better than I remembered.
