Goddess... Her Fate
This is most probably one of the best Korean albums I have. Or is it? Read this review and find out.
#1 I Say 9½
Oh, this has so grown onto me. Not my style at all, of course, so something magical there must be in it.
#2 Magic 9½
At first I didn't understand why this was the first FT but I guess it was quite popular. Anyway, every time an album is an artist's last one, there's always extra room for criticism :E The video is cool, too bad it doesn't come in its full version on the CD.
#3 Anija 8½
It's clear that I haven't listened to this CD as much as I should have. This track has been quite forgotten as well, though it's quite good.
#4 Kwihan Sarang 7
Oh my. The second FT and a big miss, if you ask me. Molla and Tonight would've been perfect choices! This is like a nursery version of some LJH pieces.
#5 Nôl Wihan Ipjôl 8½
Not a bad ballad at all.
#6 Tonight 10
My original favourite, still number two. The "night-light" part is especially good, even if the chorus is a bit ordinary.
#7 Molla 10
And right after it, another big hitter, even the biggest one. This is just so good. Very powerful, with an Asian instrumental.
#8 Kjôngko 6½
Just about the only good thing is this is in the beginning the guy saying "Lady Chae, can I have your permission to continue? Thank you.". Feels like it lasted forever, though only something over three minutes.
#9 Prism 7
Neither is this one of my favourites. End already...
#10 Wê?! 6
Oh, what a wonderful opportunity once again to turn the title against the track... I'm beginning to realise there are reasons why I haven't listened to this album so much... But how could I be so misguided as to predict a 10 for this CD?
#11 But Beautiful 8
Begins very similarly to Lara Fabian's Croire (LUX88) but continues differently. But who's the man singing? And why isn't he credited or even mentioned anywhere? Rather good basic but beautiful (:P) ballad.
#12 Papo Kathyn Sarang 8½
Does this mean 'Foolish-seeming Love'? Could be. Right about time to get upbeat once more. Ordinary Koyote-type material but it's not the same without Shinji's screamy vocals.
#13 Nôman! 8½
Another of the previous kind, good. But not good enough.
#14 Magic (Remix) 9½
It's a tough call whether the remix takes a half off the score or not. I think it doesn't.
