The first Asian CD to get a review, because of the chance that I managed to leave all of Kim Hyun Jung at home. A really controversial album with songs ranging over the whole scale of grading. Despite the great hits, the strange stuff pulls the overall score down.

#1 00001

#2 GX 339-4

I guess I have, during the time between first getting this CD and now, learnt to understand these strange songs better. Still not too well, though.

#3 Bird

This one too is too strange for me. Interesting changes of attitude, but that's then pretty much all I get from this.

#4 Pakkwo 10

This on the other hand, is something I understand more than well. My favourite Korean track as long as I've had any opinion on the issue, this aggressive song keeps enticing me. LJH's screamy (smoky, said someone) vocals bring an additional egde that makes it easy to believe that "she's angry because she's at loss of a lover". What happened to the lover? If the video is to be believed, he died of radiation after spending too much time jumping around at the nuclear test area without clothes and eating fish from the polluted lake.

#5 Wa

More traditional Korean influence than in Pakkwo, less anger. But still she's using imperatives. First she told us to "Change!", now to "Come!". I guess we'd better obey her. After all, on this album she's an alien from the outer space...

#6 00001.5

Begins with sounds similar to Pakkwo, the rest, however, is quite different. This would make a good background to a futuristic driving game. Maybe I'll skip grading these instrumental pieces.

#7 Ça tient moi 5

If you wonder why she was called the Korean Björk, listen to this. Of course, I don't like Björk, so neither do I like this. Her French is pretty good, though.

#8 Tinase

Nothing really.

#9 Zhungkjôk 8

Now onto a much more interesting piece for a change. Clearly below the two biggest hits, though.

#10 Trance

Why does this sound so familiar? Oh, this must be Trance. It's always so much fun to listen to CDs without tracklistings, especially these exotic ones. I can't believe I actually own a CD with a track titled öööööö, as my ICQ would censor that objectionable word.

#11 Karyma 9

This is fun! The only track from the album that also KHJ could've done, pure Finnish schlager with some exotic instruments and melodies.

#12 I Love X 6

In a way this is quite funny as well. I keep wondering, why the men say "I love one", though they should love X instead. And then "I wanna be exclusive for ladies"? That I must've heard wrong.
