The first Kylie album I bought, not having even been familiar with her early production. Maybe the best comeback effort I know, ended up in my shelf mostly because of tracks 4 and 7, neither of which got international single releases, but I can't complain so much because she was so successful with the choices she made (I know, it's not her who makes decision but the record company, it's just a way of putting it).

#1 Spinning Around

At first I didn't think too much of this, though I still kept watching the video because of the guy she dances with (whom they show all too little (unlike the already legendary golden hotpants...)).

#2 On a Night Like This 9

I guess I might actually like this better than SA, though there's pretty much similarity in them.

#3 So Now Goodbye 8

Theatricalish track of quite basic level.

#4 Disco Down

I heard someone say this would have distinct ABBA influence to it. He may have been right, and that might also be why I like this.

#5 Loveboat 5

A total horror. Well, at least it's different. And humorous, they say. I wouldn't know. A redeeming association with The Sims, though.

#6 Koocachoo

This time this brought me a thought of the NES game The Simpsons vs. The World, especially the beginning. Not half as bad as Loveboat. Not double as good either.

#7 Your Disco Needs You 10

Not a surprising favourite considering my "affiliations", though it's a bit boring to be so predictable. The Attitude review promised a lot for this track and it certainly lived up to the expectations. The first listening in the record shop sent a shiver down my spine and made my hair stand up, so powerful an experience it was.

#8 Please Stay 8

At first I couldn't understand choosing this as the third single, but I guess this works after all. The video has some funny dancing with billiard sticks.

#9 Bittersweet Goodbye 6

Token slow song, sleepy and quite out of place.

#10 Butterfly 7

Watery and floaty.

#11 Under the Influence of Love

Song with many very different parts. The theme is also very suitable to the music, as can say anyone who has been "under the influence". Oh my, I just added a ½ to the score...

#12 I'm So High

These two seem to have been some of the biggest growers on this CD. Also a perfect addition to what was said in UtIoL. The ending, however, is somehow unpleasant.

#13 Kids 7

I never understood the success of this. Quite powerful, though, and I think this "Kylie version" is better than the "Robbie one". Naturally.

#14 Light Years 6

I can see this as a perfect opening to a concert but not much more.
