Magic to Go to My Star

Oh my, I can't remember the order in which I acquired the LJH CDs. Must check at YA's Order History. Oh yes, first I got the first album and then all the rest (2-4.5) in the second order, along with Koyotes 1-5.

#1 Intro

If KHJ's Time (on Wild Beauty) could be called "Civilization", this could be called "Farscape".

#2 Suri Suri Masuri 6½

Style-wise similarish to Zullê and Miwojo, not one of my favourites.

#3 Nan Zukzi Anha (I'll Never Die) 8

Quite basic material, which is not usual for LJH as most of her songs are special for better or worse. Pleasant but not spectacular.

#4 Crying in the Mirror

An alarm clock.

#5 Mizhjô 9

One of the feature tracks off this album but was this even the first one or was it Pan? Nicely "travelling" piece but not her best. My favourite is the chorus-ending line "Naekero tora wa!" ('Come back to me!). The video is sad with her playing a wheelchair-bound ballerina.

#6 No More Terror 9½

A draggy track made by the chorus chords. One of my favourites.

#7 Phyrizym 7

When an English word is koreanised, it often takes some time to read it to realise what word it actually is. Like this one, 'Prism'. Other such song titles include "Phyrophil" ('Profile' by Koyote), "Sillues" ('Silhouette' by KHJ) and "Tisykhowang" ('Disco King' by Koyote). Other good words are "thellepizôn" ('television'), "Phyrangsy" ('France') and "polling" ('bowling').

#8 Misty 7½

I think the second album must be LJH's best. Although she has many big hits, all of her albums are so varied that they aren't consistent.

#9 Surprise Party 9

This is a totally forgotten track. [UPDATE 060227] Mainly thanks to AL, this has since then become quite a hit as well.

#10 Pan 9½

And then the big hit. I read somewhere that this was either the biggest hit of the whole year in Korea or at least one of them. The hilarious video must've contributed to the success.

#11 Set It Up Now 8

I just went through the YA reviews for this album and most of them are utterly praising. There are some especially funny things there, like "i like how she sings different songs from other singers. she sings more techno. but i dont like how shes not a christian. x(" but also some differing opinions like "Lee Jung Hyun, if you are reading this - please say this was all a joke and come out with the real album soon... I promise to forgive you!"

#12 Anti Drug 8½

Nice and dreamy, I should listen to this more.
