Nylon Beat

The main reason to buy this album was to own all of their Finnish releases. Not their worst effort though, amusingly plastic-sounding.

#1 Satelliitti irrallaan 6

Boring, though atmostpheric, introish track.

#2 Teflonlove 9

A prime wronghearing song, cheery and progressive.

#3 Naparengas 8½

Repetitive, though energetic and very plastic.

#4 Valmis oon vaikka armeijaan 9

The theme is not one of my favourites but the music itself is good and there are refreshing points in the beat, especially comparing to several other tracks of the same style on this album.

#5 Rakastuin mä looseriin 6

This one I've never understood. The strange melody arrangement feels more suitable in the more exotic S.E.S. version, though these lyrics are clearly better.

#6 Elämä on lyhyt 7

Also a bit strange, as well as repetitive.

#7 Yo-yo 5

Exactly the same comments as for the one before this. I guess it's either late or this CD is an uninspiring one. Probably both.

The strange streak goes on, though in a more swingy way.

#9 Mikset mua sä jättänyt oo 9½

My favourite on the album, "kaihea" and melancholic. Could use some extra ideas but good anyway. Repetition seems to be the biggest problem of this album.

#10 Hei - me tehdään ydinkoe 5

Generic, fast-paced plastic with cryptic lyrics. What exactly do they mean by saying "Sulat niin kuin tic-tac-toe"? One of those tracks that never seem to end...

#11 Oot kuin karkkia mulle 6

Aqua did this theme much better in Lollipop (Candyman).

#12 Miksi on niin vaikeaa 6½

Towards the end of the album the slower tracks seem more pleasant, though not any more remarkable.

#13 Lä - lä - lä 7

Humorous song with ethnic influences straight from I Shall Be There by B*Witched. Contains some hilarious lines.

#14 Kreisi oon 8

Promising schlagerish beginning that leads to a song that indeed could be sung by Heidi Kyrö, except for the teeny lyrics.

#15 Pieni taivas 5

Sleepy plainy ballad that gets more tedious the further on it goes.

#16 Rakastuin mä looseriin (Nylon Speed Looser-Mix) 6½

This album is too long already for the amount of true content on it, why does it have to be further lengthened by remixes? Although this one could be better than the original... Maybe they could've kept these but instead dumped some of the most generic other tracks?

#17 Teflonlove (68 BPM Slow Motion Mix) 7

At first you don't recognize which song this is, unless you remember because of the lyrics, so different is this version. Interesting, though the original is way better, especially the ethnoscreams are horrible.

It's so short there's nothing you can say about it (except from "thank god it ended :] ).
