The Princess Diaries

Today I decided to review all of my soundtracks. That's not as big a job as one'd think, as this actually is the only one :] If I remember correctly, I got this as a birthday present in 2002. From myself, of course.

#1 Krystal Harris - Supergirl 6½

Having already reviewed two bad songs with the same (or almost same) title, a third probably won't hurt? If you really want to save the world, you'd better start by getting yourself a better theme tune...

#2 Aaron Carter - Little Bitty Pretty One 5

There'a a reason for my not having bought more soundtracks. Namely, they're bad. And this one's supposed to be the best among them.

#3 BBMak - Miss You More 6

Boh boh boring. Get to the good stuff already, will you?

#4 3Gs - Crush 6½

I didn't remember this CD was actually this bad...

#5 Backstreet Boys - What Makes You Different (Makes You Beautiful) 7½

Oh what sentimental teen crap. Still possibly the best track so far...

#6 Myra - Miracles Happen 10

Yee yee! This is what I bought this accursed thing for! I remember so clearly first hearing this in the ballroom scene at the end of the film. From the very first seconds (the beginning chords) I knew it was going to be very good, and of course it was. The other option would've been to buy Myra's album but I doubt that would have been much better and this way I also got the A-Teens song. I don't know if I like the Spanish version Siempre hay milagros even better, though it's for some reason some two minutes shorter...

#7 Nobody's Angel - Always Tomorrow 6

After the absolute highlight we're back to basics.

#8 Youngstown - Away With the Summerdays 6

She must've ran away with the melody as well...

#9 Mandy Moore - Stupid Cupid 8

This song's older than heaven but still it works all right. Mandy's squealing like a pig sounds especially funny. Kustaawa would be proud of her... @",}~

#10 Hanson - Wake Up 6

No, I'm not going to.

#11 Steps - Happy Go Lucky 9

The inclusion of this one here is quite funny. A such a familiar song like this is quite a stand-out in this generic mass... From Buzz:

"First in the chain of good latter half tracks (now that I think about it, numbers 7 and 8 could also be included, but for some reason these four (9-12) are bound together (maybe because they are not their own ones)). Someone pointed out this resembles Britney's Lucky quite a lot. I don't know, maybe somewhat. Hers is even better. But how did this get onto the Princess Diaries OST?"

#12 Melissa Lefton - I Love Life 7½

This one sounds quite old as well. The chorus is pretty good but the other parts really bad.

#13 Lil' J featuring Nobody's Angel and Tammy Phoenix - Ain't Nuthin' But a She Thing 4

Words are not enough...

#14 B*Witched - Hold on 8

Quite okay, would even have improved the quality of their second album.

#15 Mpulz - The Journey 6

I didn't manage to pay any attention.

#16 A-Teens - Heartbreak Lullaby (Ray Hedges Recall 7" Mix) 10

Oh, this is so good after all the aforereviewed horrors.
